SESSION PREP · ASIA

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-08-24 21:01 UTC.

The story that carried the US session continues into Asia, not reverses: crypto still leads the tape, with Bitcoin closing in on $80,000 and Washington’s regulatory push generating fresh headlines — while oil eases back as the Iran move stops short of new secondary sanctions.

The calendar is light, so don’t expect the data to steal the show. Australia’s monetary policy minutes, Japan’s BOJ core CPI and Germany’s final GDP are all low-impact prints — useful color, but headlines and charts carry the weight.

Watch whether Bitcoin’s dip-buyers defend 77,652.6 as it nears that big round number; Ethereum has a snug ceiling at 2480.1 to clear, with support at 2437.4. Gold stays in a clean uptrend, but H4 RSI at 75.4 runs hot and a divergence caution flags — support sits at 4629.65. Oil needs to hold 84.36 to keep its bullish lean; a break of 85.44 would refresh the Iran bid. And keep an eye on how the yen reacts to the BOJ CPI print around an active USD/JPY tape.
