SESSION PREP · ASIA

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-08-27 21:02 UTC.

Regulation and stablecoins still ruled the wires as the US session closed — and the Bank of Korea added a regional twist with a second straight hike to 3%. The dollar-firm backdrop carries into Asia; the earlier tug-of-war has tilted, not flipped, but sellers’ near-term edge has flattened into a more balanced, level-driven tape.

The calendar turns lighter: Tokyo Core CPI and unemployment lead the morning, followed by a European support cast — German import prices and unemployment change, French consumer spending, final private payrolls, flash CPI and GDP, Spanish flash CPI, and the KOF barometer. Light data, so levels should do the talking.

The levels are tight. EUR/USD is squeezed between 1.16487 and 1.16585, USD/JPY between 159.36464 and 159.46225, oil between 82.46 and 83.19 — a breakout in any of these sets the first real tone. Oil has the cleanest bullish lean (D1 and H1 up, H1 RSI 61.9). Bitcoin, above 79k, has tapped the 79,951.7 shelf with a quiet RSI-divergence warning — not a reversal signal, just a reason to wait for a close on either side. Expect polite queuing at the breakout gates.
