SESSION PREP · ASIA

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-09-06 21:00 UTC.

Asia Session Prep — 21:00–08:00 UTC

The US session wrapped with risk sentiment constructive and the dollar's pulse tied to payrolls, while oil's earlier cool-down has reversed into a firmer bid—bullion's Dutch gold headlines still linger, but the metal itself sits quiet. The yen remains the odd one out: USD/JPY's H4 RSI at 30.6 is stretched, yet the H1 downtrend is intact, so snap risk deserves respect rather than a chase.

The calendar is light in Asia—Japanese leading indicators and Swiss unemployment are the only notable prints—meaning price action will lean on technicals. Expect Tokyo to test the dollar's resolve after Friday's jobs data, with oil's H4 uptrend looking to reclaim its stride near the 89.77 ceiling.

Watch for a few things as liquidity thins: cable is coiled between 1.35015 and 1.35220, so whichever side gives first may set the early tone; gold is squeezed between 4419.44 and 4446.94 with a breakout on the table in either direction; and crypto majors are drifting—bitcoin capped under 80,036.1, ether holding above 2485.7. With weekend liquidity, moves may be exaggerated—keep stops honest and sizes modest.
