Asia Session Prep — 21:00–08:00 UTC
The US closed with the story still holding its shape: oil above $100 and at its highest since May, Treasury yields surging after a poor 30-year auction, and the ECB's hawkish hike keeping the inflation conversation front and centre. The dollar remains the calm one in the room.
Asia's calendar is thin but not empty. Japan gives us the BSI Manufacturing Index and PPI y/y, New Zealand the BusinessNZ Manufacturing Index, and Switzerland the SECO Consumer Climate — all Low tier. The real weight sits in the UK's High-flagged GDP m/m, bundled with a cluster of Low-tier UK releases (Construction Output, Goods Trade Balance, Index of Services, Industrial and Manufacturing Production) — worth noting for sterling even though London is still asleep.
The barometer hasn't flipped from this morning. Oil stays bullish-clear, though H4 RSI 80.4 and H1 RSI 79.2 — overbought, stretched, no tested ceiling above — argue for respect rather than chase. Gold is bearish-clear and pinned at 4315.29 with RSI 30.1, so watch whether that floor gives. USD/JPY is the one to mind: H1 RSI 64.9, sitting low in the range with 154.34343 beneath and a long road to 157.75575. Keep sizes modest while the tape follows news, not structure.
