SESSION PREP · LONDON

What to watch in the London session

The London session (Europe open · the liquidity hour) · updated 2026-09-10 08:00 UTC.

Morning. The story hasn't changed much overnight — Asia's equity tape is softer and oil is still trading above $100, keeping the inflation conversation front and centre as the ECB hike call and the Fed's two inflation reports loom. The dollar remains the calm one in the room.

London's calendar is thin: Italian Industrial Production is the only scheduled item, so headlines keep the wheel. The barometer holds its shape from yesterday — oil bullish-clear with RSI 56 firm, no tested ceiling above and the floor far below at 90.47; gold bearish-clear but still boxed between 4400.82 and 4417.08. USD/JPY is the stretched one, H4 RSI 31.5 with no floor beneath and resistance back at 153.74767. The euro and cable stay neutral-leaning, pinned between close levels — 1.16362/1.16430 and 1.35497/1.35594 — either of which could give.

Crypto continues the overnight slide we flagged: bitcoin H1 down with RSI 40.3, ethereum H1 down at 42.9, both leaning bearish into thinning liquidity. Watch whether that extends toward tested supports or finds a bid. Keep sizes modest while the tape follows news, not structure.
