London Session Prep — 08:00–12:00 UTC
The story hasn't changed shape overnight: oil above $100 and at its highest since May, Treasury yields surging after a poor 30-year auction and a buyback operation that failed to calm anyone, and the ECB's hawkish hike keeping the inflation conversation front and centre. The dollar remains the calm one in the room — though AUD/USD's RSI at 28 suggests someone's feeling the strain.
London's calendar is light on paper: Italy's quarterly unemployment rate, UK consumer inflation expectations, and SNB Chairman Schlegel speaking — all modest, none likely to set the tape on fire. The real weight is still the UK's High-flagged GDP m/m and its bundle of Low-tier releases, worth watching for sterling even if the numbers land quietly.
As for the barometer, the tilt holds. Oil stays bullish-strong — D1, H4 and H1 all up, H4 RSI 75.0 — but with no tested ceiling above and the floor 9.8 ATR below, that's a stretched market to respect, not chase. Gold is bearish-clear and squeezed between 4310.04 and 4327.74, so a breakout is on the table, direction unknown. USD/JPY is the one to mind: H1 RSI 61.7, sitting low in the range with 154.40750 just beneath and a long road to 158.97084. Keep sizes modest while the tape follows news, not structure.
