US Session Prep — 12:00–21:00 UTC
The story hasn't changed shape, but it has changed temperature. Oil has slipped back below $100 even as diesel prints a fresh record above $6, Treasury yields are still surging after Bessent's beefed-up buyback failed to calm anyone, and equities are wobbling on crude and West Asia headlines. Crypto is doing its own thing: the CLARITY Act amendment is heading for a Senate vote, with stablecoin plumbing (Coinbase–Moov, 1,000+ banks) making the news rounds.
The calendar, however, is the main event. All four US CPI prints land High-flagged — the number that sets the tone for everything else. Lagarde speaks (Medium), then Prelim UoM Consumer Sentiment and Inflation Expectations close the loop on the consumer side, with the Federal Budget Balance as a Low-tier footnote.
As for the barometer, the tilt is unchanged in oil — bullish-strong, D1/H4/H1 all up, H4 RSI 75.0 — though it's now trading around 99.52 with similar room above (1.2 ATR) and below (0.9 ATR): stretched, evenly balanced, not a chase. Gold stays bearish-clear, squeezed between 4310.04 and 4327.74, breakout on the table, direction unknown. EUR/USD and GBP/USD are both bearish-leaning with soft RSI (37 and 36) and EMA20 below EMA50; EUR/USD sits 0.0 ATR below its 1.16060 ceiling, GBP/USD balanced at 1.35020/1.34868. USD/JPY is the one to mind: H1 RSI 61.7, low in the range with 154.40750 just beneath and a long road to 158.97084. AUD/USD's RSI at 28 still suggests someone's feeling the strain. Keep sizes modest while the tape follows CPI, not structure.
