SESSION PREP · LONDON

What to watch in the London session

The London session (Europe open · the liquidity hour) · updated 2026-09-14 08:00 UTC.

London Session Prep — 08:00–12:00 UTC

The US left the same split tape on the table: oil still grinding higher (last read $99.39, +0.65% over eight hours) while the CLARITY Act heads for a Senate vote and Coinbase–Moov keeps building stablecoin plumbing for community banks. Gold (-0.35%) and Bitcoin (+1.31%) both drifted their own way, so the risk complex is still deciding what it wants to be when it grows up.

London's calendar is deliberately low-key — China's M2 Money Supply and New Loans, both Low-tier. No CPI-style landmine here; the session inherits the US mood rather than authoring a new one.

On the barometer, oil's higher-timeframe tilt is bullish across D1, H4 and H1, H4 RSI 66.0, price 99.39 — but the card flags it extended and sitting just 0.3 ATR below the 99.66 ceiling, so mind the air up there. Gold is bearish-clear on H4 and H1 with D1 mixed, squeezed between 4308.42 and 4327.38 — breakout on the table, direction unknown. EUR/USD leans bearish-strong (H4 RSI 27.1, H1 RSI 22.4) with a divergence warning against the trend; GBP/USD is boxed between 1.34846 and 1.34945. USD/JPY is the one to mind — D1 and H4 down but H1 up, RSI 63.6, sitting right on 154.35 support with 22.8 ATR of room above. Keep sizes modest while the tape digests the US close.
