Overnight handed over a proper mess: the 10-year yield briefly topped 5% for the first time since 2007, AI names took the hit, and Brent found $109 as the Houthi campaign intensified — oil still doing the heavy lifting it was doing when Asia took the baton. Asian shares traded mostly lower, and the mood hasn't exactly improved with the handover.
The UK calendar is the loudest thing in this window: Claimant Count Change (High) and Average Earnings (Medium), with the Unemployment Rate tagging along. The eurozone brings Italian and overall Trade Balance plus German ZEW Economic Sentiment — all Low-tier, but ZEW can still nudge the single currency if it surprises.
On the barometer, the tilt has firmed since Asia. EUR/USD is bearish-clear (H4 RSI 25.1) squeezed between 1.15325 and 1.15461 — a breakout is on the table, direction unknown. GBP/USD is also bearish-clear (H4 RSI 31.5), boxed between 1.34639 and 1.34942, and today's UK data is the likely trigger. Gold stays bearish-clear (H4 RSI 36.6), sitting just 0.3 ATR above 4281.55 support. Oil is bullish-clear but flagged extended (H4 RSI 62.7) — the note from the US session stands. USD/JPY leans bullish (H4 RSI 59.2, H1 61.9) holding structure. Crypto is the mixed bag: Bitcoin neutral (H1 RSI 33.3) after a soft 8h, Ethereum still bullish-leaning on the higher timeframes despite a weak H1. Keep sizes modest through the UK prints — this is a data-driven morning.
