Asia Session Prep — 21:00–08:00 UTC
The Fed delivered the surprise the US session was bracing for: a rate hike, the first in three years, straight through the political noise. Bitcoin slipped on the news and crypto stocks went with it, while the Clarity Act's 49–50 Senate failure keeps the regulatory story running hot — the SEC and CFTC now promising to push rules anyway.
Asia's own calendar is light: New Zealand GDP lands early (High), with the SECO Economic Forecasts for the franc as the only other entry. Expect the Fed's aftershock, not the local data, to set the tone.
On the barometer, the dollar is doing the heavy lifting. EUR/USD (H4 RSI 18.5, H1 18.0) and GBP/USD (H4 17.4, H1 21.5) are both stretched to the downside with RSI divergence warnings — deeply oversold, but no tested ceiling above. USD/JPY is the mirror image, overbought and firm (H4 RSI 71.9, H1 76.1). Gold is squeezed between 4260.47 and 4280.34 — a breakout is on the table, direction unknown. Bitcoin leans bearish, holding 75760.7 support. Oil's H1 has turned down against its bullish D1/H4 structure. With the Fed statement already in the books, watch whether Asia extends the dollar bid or takes profit on these extremes.
