The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-09-21 21:00 UTC.
Good evening. The dollar bid that started Friday is still on its walk — EUR/USD (1.14656) and GBP/USD (1.33695) remain stretched to the downside with no tested ceiling above, USD/JPY (157.392) is firm, and crypto is doing its own thing entirely: Bitcoin (86,863.6, H4 RSI 86.1) and Ethereum are both stretched with no tested ceiling above, Litecoin's H4 RSI sits at a scorching 82.6, and XRP has run 2.69% over the last eight hours.
Asia's calendar is thin but not empty: Japan is out for a bank holiday, so expect yen liquidity to thin out accordingly, while RBA Governor Bullock speaks — the one high-tier item on the board, and the AUD's problem to solve. UK public sector net borrowing rounds things out on the low-tier side.
On the barometer, the dollar's pressure valves are still stretched. EUR/USD leans bearish (H4 RSI 36.7, floor 1.14621 just below, resistance 10 ATR away), GBP/USD leans bearish (H4 RSI 38.5, resistance 10.4 ATR away — genuinely stretched), and USD/JPY leans bullish but sits evenly balanced between 157.30871 and 157.82070 with a breakout on the table, direction unknown. Gold is squeezed between 4328.92 and 4344.43, breakout on the table. Oil leans bearish, pinned 0.2 ATR above its floor. Watch whether the dollar bid extends or those stretched pairs finally breathe — and whether Bullock gives the AUD a reason to move.
