What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-09-29 21:00 UTC.

The dollar's grip loosened just enough for a few pairs to breathe, but nobody's clocking out early — EUR/USD (1.13392) is still pinned near its lows with H4 RSI at 29.9, oil (87.98) has stretched its legs firmly lower, and gold (4182.55) is up 0.76% over the last 8h but still boxed well below its ceiling.

No top-tier US releases land in this window, but the microphones never sleep: FOMC's Bowman, Barr, Goolsbee, Musalem, Williams and Waller all speak, alongside the MPC's Mann and Taylor. The real meat is Down Under — Australian CPI (headline and trimmed mean) headlines the data docket, with China's PMIs and the RBA's post-decision Press Conference (Cash Rate now 4.6%) rounding out the Asia story.

On the barometer, the stretched pairs stay stretched: EUR/USD bearish leaning with price squeezed between two close levels, GBP/USD neutral after its 20:30 UTC shift out of bearish, USD/JPY neutral with H1 bands at their tightest in 120 bars. Gold's higher-timeframe read stays mixed; oil is the one stretching its legs lower, H1 RSI 26.6. Watch whether the dollar bid extends or those pairs finally breathe — and whether the Fed speakers give it a nudge either way.
