What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-09-30 21:00 UTC.

Asia Session Prep — Thursday, 21:00–08:00 UTC

The dollar's grip loosened just enough for a few pairs to breathe — EUR/USD (1.13311) has flipped back to a neutral tilt after a quiet shift out of bearish at 18:45 UTC, GBP/USD (1.32669) is squeezed between 1.32661 and 1.32802 with a fresh hammer on the M15, and gold (4159.73) has crept back to neutral, still boxed below 4171.21 after a bearish session. Oil (89.40) is squeezed tight between 89.01 and 89.86 with the bearish lean intact.

Today's US session was a heavyweight: Core PCE and Final GDP headlined the docket, alongside ADP, Personal Income and Spending, Chicago PMI and Crude Oil Inventories. Barkin, Cook and President Trump all spoke — and it's a Bank Holiday in Canada, so CAD liquidity may run thin.

On the barometer, the stretched pairs stay stretched: EUR/USD neutral with D1 down but H4/H1 up, and H4 RSI 31.8 running soft; GBP/USD bearish clear across D1/H4 but H1 pushing up, with H1 momentum firm at 55.1. USD/JPY is neutral with H4 bands at their tightest in 120 bars — a squeeze worth watching. Gold's higher-timeframe read stays mixed; oil is the one stretching its legs, H1 RSI 46.5. Watch whether the dollar bid extends or those pairs finally breathe — and whether Core PCE gives it a nudge either way.
