What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-10-01 21:31 UTC.

Revised 2 Oct 2026, 19:22 UTC — the first version was written while the broker's price feed was frozen: it quoted prices that were ten hours old and described a Bitcoin trend its empty card did not show.

Good evening. The US wrapped with bond yields swinging hard enough to rattle markets worldwide, and financial stocks slipping below a chart level that has people talking.

Asia's calendar is light but not empty: Tokyo Core CPI and the Japanese unemployment rate land alongside a Bank Holiday in China, with FOMC's Logan speaking and Spanish unemployment change rounding things out.

The catch tonight is that every symbol on the board — EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, gold, oil, and both crypto majors — is showing a paused live read, so there's no fresh gauge to lean on. That makes the Tokyo data the main event: watch whether it shifts the yen conversation after the yield-driven turbulence, and keep an eye on Logan's remarks for any echo of the bond story. With China out and reads dark, expect thinner, twitchier conditions — a night for patience over conviction.
