Asia Session's Technical Barometer

What this reads: the bigger picture for this session — daily, 4-hour and 1-hour trends with 4-hour and 1-hour momentum, read when this briefing was written. It changes slowly and is not a forecast. Market Pulse reads only the last hour or so, so the two can disagree: a short bounce inside a downtrend can read bullish there and bearish here.

SESSION PREP · ASIA

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-10-05 21:00 UTC.

Good evening, Asia. The US wrapped with Washington still doing the heavy lifting — the CFTC rolling out a first crypto rulebook after the CLARITY Act failed, Treasury pulling back its mixing rule, and a chip-venture headline keeping Intel in the chat. Regulatory wires, not hard data, carried the tone.

That carries into this window, and the calendar is busier than the last one. The marquee item is BOJ Gov Ueda speaking — high tier, so treat it as the one that can actually move things. Around it sit low-tier releases: NZIER Business Confidence and Westpac Consumer Sentiment, ANZ Job Advertisements, a 10-year JGB auction, German Factory Orders, French Industrial Production and Budget Balance, and Swiss Unemployment. China is out on bank holiday, so CNY liquidity thins out.

On the board, every live read is still paused — last updated 10:44 UTC — so there's no fresh gauge to lean on for EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY, gold, oil, or the crypto pairs. Treat the levels as stale until the feeds resume, and watch whether Ueda lands close to expectations or catches anyone offside.
