Asia Session's Technical Barometer

What this reads: the bigger picture for this session — daily, 4-hour and 1-hour trends with 4-hour and 1-hour momentum, read when this briefing was written. It changes slowly and is not a forecast. Market Pulse reads only the last hour or so, so the two can disagree: a short bounce inside a downtrend can read bullish there and bearish here.

SESSION PREP · ASIA

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-10-06 21:02 UTC.

Good evening. The US session closed with the regulatory tape still doing the talking — FinCEN's withdrawal of its wallet and mixing proposals, the CFTC's new push for a federal crypto exchange rulebook, and Hong Kong holding its end-2026 licensing line.

Asia opens with a quiet, low-tier calendar: a CNY bank holiday, JPY Average Cash Earnings and Leading Indicators, German Industrial Production, Lloyds HPI, French Trade Balance and Swiss Foreign Currency Reserves. Nothing here tends to move the needle much on its own — a session for patience rather than fireworks.

So the gauge is blank across the majors; nothing here confirms or reverses yesterday's tilts. Watch whether the regulatory drumbeat keeps steering tone, and whether the thin Asian calendar leaves the tape to drift on headlines instead.
