Asia Session's Technical Barometer

What this reads: the bigger picture for this session — daily, 4-hour and 1-hour trends with 4-hour and 1-hour momentum, read when this briefing was written. It changes slowly and is not a forecast. Market Pulse reads only the last hour or so, so the two can disagree: a short bounce inside a downtrend can read bullish there and bearish here.

What to watch in the Asia session

The Asian session (Sydney · Australia · Tokyo · China · Singapore) · updated 2026-10-07 21:02 UTC.

Good evening, Asia. The day that just ended left Wall Street lower and off its record highs as Treasury yields climbed, with the Fed's minutes showing little appetite for a series of rate hikes — and the crypto rulebook kept rewriting itself in the background.

The calendar for this window is a gentle hum rather than a roar, all low-tier: the RICS House Price Balance for the pound, Japan's Current Account, 30-year bond auction and Economy Watchers Sentiment, Australia's MI Inflation Expectations, and Germany's Trade Balance. Nothing here is built to move a major on its own, but the Japanese auction is worth a glance given where USD/JPY is sitting.

On the gauge, the tilt stays cautious. EUR/USD is BEARISH LEANING with its nearest level above close by and the level below far away — price looks stretched. GBP/USD is BEARISH LEANING, wedged between two nearby levels where a break could go either way. USD/JPY is the odd one out again, BULLISH LEANING and perched right at the nearest level above. Gold is BEARISH CLEAR and stretched, bitcoin BEARISH LEANING and nearer its level above, ethereum NEUTRAL and near the bottom of its range, and oil's live read is paused for its session break. Watch how those levels hold as Tokyo comes in.
