Paxos Brings $3B USDG Stablecoin to Arbitrum - Yahoo Finance

Paxos has expanded its USDG stablecoin to the Arbitrum network, extending a token that the company says carries roughly $3 billion in circulating value. The move places a regulated, dollar-backed stablecoin onto one of the largest Ethereum layer-2 rollups, where faster and cheaper transactions have made Arbitrum a popular venue for decentralized finance activity.

For the broader market, the development matters less as a price catalyst than as a piece of infrastructure. Stablecoins are the settlement layer for much of crypto trading, lending, and payments, so where they are available shapes where liquidity concentrates. Bringing a multi-billion-dollar token to Arbitrum could deepen on-chain dollar liquidity there and give users an alternative to existing stablecoins on the network.

What to watch: how quickly USDG's supply on Arbitrum grows, whether it gets integrated into major lending and exchange protocols, and how it competes with established stablecoins already dominant on the chain. Adoption metrics, not the announcement itself, will indicate whether the expansion changes Arbitrum's liquidity landscape.
